Project update by TILIA - Work Package 4

The implementation of a techno-economic analysis for the deployment of blue-green decentralized infrastructures aimed at mitigating and preventing diffuse pollution from surface stormwater runoff throughout the urban area of Santiago de Compostela is part of the main task of Tilia within Work Package 4 in the WATERUN project.

For the economic-technical evaluation (net present value comparison) of the solutions developed within WATERUN, a valid database is needed. The life cycle analysis requires that all construction and material costs as well as all other investments (land acquisition, services, etc.) are recorded for the construction phase of the technical solutions. For the operational phase, on one hand, the inclusion of scheduled component replacements is necessary. On the other hand, the annual ongoing operating and maintenance costs (material, personnel, etc.) are to be determined.

Since the system applies to each component of the overall concept, it is imperative that all data be recorded in a structured manner. For this purpose, Tilia developed a comprehensive cost matrix in a first step. First graphical drafts for the cost comparison were also created.

In the next steps, the cost matrix will be filled with information about the technologies to be used, based on the results of the life cycle assessment (AIMEN).
