Within Work Package 4 of the WATERUN project, Tilia is responsible for conducting a techno-economic analysis for the deployment of blue-green decentralized infrastructures in a designated area of Santiago de Compostela.
As the foundation for the techno-economic evaluation (net present value comparison) of the blue-green infrastructures (BGI) developed within WATERUN, the area under consideration has been defined (see Figure 1).
Based on the work of AIMEN for the environmental assessment (LCA), Tilia has presented an initial cost structure to be used for the profitability comparison. The main cost components are as follows: Biofiltration System, Plumbing, and Water Collection Basin. There are also costs for supply and discharge pipework.
Furthermore, weighting factors for the comparison of the different solution have been developed (see Figure 2). With the help of these factors, the utility value of the individual solutions can be determined in addition to the cost comparison.
