One of the dissemination and communication objectives of the WATERUN project is to make the project products and their relevance well known to all relevant (international) stakeholders in order to maximize the expected impact of the project. In this context, our colleagues from the UFZ attended the IWA World Water Congress and Exhibition 2024 in Toronto, Canada. The IWA World Water Congress & Exhibition (WWC&E) brings together stakeholders and key contacts from within and beyond the conventional water sector. It brings together core water sector groups, such as those focused on urban water and urban water services, as well as participants from industry and agriculture, architects and urban planners, soil and groundwater experts and hydrologists, social scientists, the ICT sector, the financial sector, and others. With a strong representation and contribution from Canada and North America this year, the IWA Congress & Exhibition was an important opportunity to learn about water challenges and solutions in the North Atlantic region, including through technical site visits. This year's IWA WWC&E featured 7000 attendees, over 900 speakers, 200 sessions and 250 exhibitors (source: https://worldwatercongress.org/ ).
During the event, Dr. Daneish Despot and Dr. Ganbaatar Khurelbaatar presented their work within the WATERUN project and had the opportunity to discuss and exchange experiences and ideas with international stakeholders from different backgrounds.
